History was made last week when for the first time ever the Little John Lotto draw took place at the Outlaws new Lenton Lane home, just ahead of the Outlaws monthly committee meeting.
It was somewhat difficult to wheel out the random number generator (or “Robbie” as he is affectionately known) due to the piles of carpet tiles, paint pots and cleaning materials spread across the club house that resembled something of a building site!!
Those lucky enough to be watching events unfold remained enthralled as Robbie immediately set about searching the ether for the lucky winner.
Indeed, in less time than it takes to say “how are we going to get this place sorted for the 28th” Robbie magically pulled the winning ball from his bag to a spontaneous round of applause from the small band of excited spectators and interested onlookers.
Closer inspection revealed the lucky ball was none other than number 7 (seven) and a quick check down the list revealed that the winner was Craig Carter, keen supporter and former player. John pockets a cheque for £102.50 for his good fortune
Club chairman Richard Johnson was quick to congratulate Craig on his win, commenting “I am especially pleased to hear about Craig’s good fortune. I know Craig is a great supporter of the club and I look forward to him putting the money behind the bar when the new clubhouse opens for its first game on the 28th”
The Outlaws are looking to continue their improvement on and off the field. Indeed with the new ground opening shortly and the 2018 campaign already underway funds are needed more than ever. Supporters of the club are urged to sign up and in doing so, continue to grow the game of rugby league in Nottingham.
