The April draw of the Little John lottery took place prior to the monthly Outlaws committee meeting at The White Hart in Nottingham on Monday 8th of May.
Whilst the delegates were still moving tables and rearranging their chairs, the random number generator (or “Robbie” as he is affectionately known) was wheeled out of the special mobile transporter for his second “on the road” draw.
The delegate who had the good fortune of pressing Robbie’s magic button was none other than Joe Shepherd, coach of the development team and indeed last months winner. He was literally fizzing with excitement of pulling out the big one! Those lucky enough to be watching events unfold remained enthralled as Robbie whirred into action and immediately set about searching the ether for the lucky winner.
Indeed, in less than a second Robbie magically produced the winning number from his bag to a spontaneous round of applause from the small band of excited committee members and a number of dinner guests eating on the nearby table who sat watching the magical number generator.
Closer inspection revealed the lucky ball was none other than number 2 (two) and a quick check down the list revealed that the winner was Amy Johnson, chairman Rich Johnsons daughter and a founder member of the Outlaws lottery. Amy pocketed a cheque for £100.00 for her good fortune
Club chairman Richard Johnson was quick to congratulate Amy on her win, commenting “I am especially pleased to witness Amys good fortune. However I expect that I won’t be seeing any of the windfall, even with Father’s day approaching”
The Outlaws are now well into the 2017 campaign. With this in mind funds are needed more than ever and supporters of the club are urged to sign up and in doing so, continue to grow the game of rugby league in Nottingham.
